Case 109

 

 We present two cases with acute infarction of lateral medullary oblongata,; Case 1, infarction of left-sided lateral medullary oblongata (Fig.1): Case 2, infarction of right-sided lateral medullary oblongata (Fig. 2).

 Case 1. A sixty-year-old female came to our hospital suffering from numbness of right hemisphere and headache. She could walk but inclined toward the left side. She realized the abnormality the day before. She expected to spontaneously recover but in vain. Medical findings revealed hypertension, blood pressure 261/139. She received brain MRI for further investigation.


 Case 2. A seventy one-year-old male was introduced to our hospital from the local clinic to receive MRI. He experienced sudden weakness of right lower extremity and being unsteady on his feet from the day before.
