A Case of the Week

Case 110

An eleven year-old boy with his mother came to our hospital, suffering from his right persistent medial elbow pain. They visited the local orthopedic clinic to check his elbow the other day. He was a right-handed pitcher of the little league baseball team. He was getting hard to throw a ball because of feeling pain. Medical findings revealed tenderness of posteromedial elbow joint. The orthopedist asked us to scan his right elbow joint with MRI for further investigation.

What component of his right elbow joint is injured ?

1. Radius collateral ligament

2. Ulnar collateral ligament

3. Medial epicondylar apophysis

4. Biceps tendon
