A Case of the Week

Case 116

 We present two cases suffering from hemiparesis this week.

 Case 1. A forty seven-year-old male presented for right hemiparesis and poor motor function. He had experienced right hemi-headache and right hemi-numbness ten days ago. Right hemi-lateral numbness including right-face and hemi-lateral poor motion were getting more worsened. He felt strange when writing and turning a page of book. He was getting difficulty to use chopsticks. Although it was possible to stand on foot, the right side was unstable and unsteady, getting unable to walk. He received brain MRI in our hospital (Fig. 1)

 Case 2. A sixty three-year-old male was introduced and transported to our hospital from distant emergency hospital for rehabilitation, because his house was in our city. Ten days ago, he could not stand up suddenly because of loss of strength of left lower extremity. He felt difficulty to use left upper and lower extremities and then, he had to do everything using right hand. MRI that he received in other hospital demonstrated his damage in Fig. 2

4. Brain infarction
