A Case of the Week

Case 39

A seventy two-year-old female came to our hospital for back pain. The right back pain at the lower level of scapula occurred two times at 0 AM and 3AM the night before her coming, continuing for 5 minutes in each. A compress of Mohrus (anti-inflammatory) tape to attach the painful skin site was effective for pain relief. She had experienced the similar back pain at times for a couple of years. She was 156 cm tall, 45 kg weight and 21.1 BMI. Body temperature was 36.4 centigrade. Laboratory tests revealed no abnormal findings. EKG showed no ischemic changes on heart function. She received chest CT for further investigation.

What is the imaging diagnosis?

1. Degenerative thoracic spondylosis

2. Ankylosing spongilitis

3. Diffuse idiopathic skeletal sclerosis

4. Rheumatoid arthritis

5. Osteoblastic bone metastasis
