Case 42

 An eighty-year-old male came to our hospital for feeling of discomfort of the neck. Ultrasound and laryngo-scope at a local hospital showed no abnormal findings. He hoped to get further examination for anxiety to malignancies because his father died of esophageal cancer. No mass was palpable at the neck. Laboratory tests revealed CRP 0.2 mg/dL (< 0.3), BUN 21.3 mg/dl (8-20), LDL cholesterol 142 mg/dL (<140) uric acid 6.1 mg/dL.BNP 32.4 pg/ml (<18.4). He gave the informed consent to undergo neck CT.
