A Case of the Week

Case 100

 A thirty-year-old female presented in our hospital suffering from abdominal pain, headache and high fever of 38.8 to 39℃ for two days. She got Pills routinely from the local clinic to avoid pregnancy. Laboratory test revealed that negative rapid influenza test, white blood cells 23260/mm3, neutrophils 85%, CRP 23.26 mg/dL, Hemoglobin 11.7 g/dL, LDH 157 U/L, D dimer 1.4 (< 1 microgram/mL), PTINR 1.32. Urine test depicted negative red blood cells and white blood cells. Electro cardiogram showed no evidence of atrium fibrillation. She took contraceptive pills routinely. She received nonenhanced and enhanced CT for further investigation.

1. Extra-anatomical embolism

2. Arterial embolism originated from heart

3. Septic embolism

4. Acute pyelonephritis (Acute focal bacterial nephritis)

5. Renal vein thrombosis
