A Case of the Week

Case 104

 An eighty two-year-old female was introduced to our hospital for rehabilitation by the emergent hospital. She got brain stroke last December. She had cardiac fibrillation which was considered to make emboli flow into and occlude cerebral arteries. Her status of Glasgow Coma Scale was E4 (spontaneous eye opening) V2 (no words or only words) M5 (localizes to pain). Medical findings revealed speech disturbance and right hemiparesis. MRI showed infarction of the left frontal lobe (Figs. 1, 2). She had previously experienced total gastrectomy and brain hemorrhage.

What artery was responsible to brain infarction ?
