A Case of the 10 days

 A fifty-eight-year-old male presented in our hospital for sudden abdominal pain. He experienced consistent fever and throat pain for a few days. His fever was getting down. He did not go to private clinic because of summer holidays. When he tried to go shopping with car, sudden abdominal pain seized him. His daughter called ambulance for help. He had a habit to drink two or three cups of drinking rice spirits per day for these thirty years. Laboratory test revealed CRP 3.15 mg/dL, Hemoglobin 16.5 g/dL, red blood cells 4900000/mm3, white blood cells 9560/mm3, Amylase 48 U/L. He took abdomen non-enhanced CT (Fig.1) and two hours later, contrast-enhanced CT (Fig. 2).

What least CT values of ascites considered to be bloody fluids?

1. 10 HU or greater

2. 20 HU or greater

3. 30 HU or greater

4. 40 HU or greater
