Case 51

 A twenty five-year-old female came to our hospital for mild fever (37.4 centigrades), swallowing pain, cough and weakness of lower extremities. She had ingested superficially burned chicken twelve days ago, and a few days later, diarrhea began and continued for approximately 6 days. Diarrhea was getting improved. However, she felt the power loss of lower extremities. Physical findings revealed weakness of bilateral lower extremities muscles: power scale of foot joint 2/5, hip joint 1/5. There was a selective disorder of motor nerve system but not of sensory nerve system or autonominal nerve system. She received Gadolinium(Gd)-enhanced MRI.

What part of nerve system would be possibly involved by Guillain-Barre syndrome ?
